Position Summary
The Manager of IT Infrastructure’s role is to ensure the streamlined operation of all of the aspects of IT infrastructure with Dotomi. This individual will plan, coordinate, design and develop IT-related Infrastructure activities of the organization, as well as provide administrative direction and support for daily operational activities of the department. This hands on Manager will work closely with decision makers in other departments to identify, recommend, develop, implement, and support cost-effective technology solutions for all aspects of the organization. This person will also design and implement IT policies, procedures, and best practices.
Essential Job Functions/Activities
- Lead Infrastructure Department operational and strategic planning, including fostering innovation, planning projects, and organizing and negotiating the allocation of resources.
- Manage the deployment, monitoring, maintenance, development, upgrade, and support of all IT systems, including servers, PCs, operation systems, hardware, software, and peripherals.
- Benchmark, analyze, report on, and make recommendations for the improvement and growth of the IT infrastructure and IT systems.
- Oversee provision of end-user services, including help desk and other technical support services.
- Develop business case justifications and cost/benefit analysis for IT spending and initiatives.
- Develop and implement all IT policies and procedures, including those for datacenter operations, networks, hardware, security, disaster recovery, standards, and service provision.
- Practice asset management for IT hardware, software, and equipment.
- Manage IT staffing, including recruitment, supervision, scheduling, development, evaluation, and disciplinary actions.
- Keep current with the latest technologies.
- Specification of new equipment by request and capacity forecasting and enhancement of existing equipment.
- Assist in standardization and administration of server farms at hosting facilities.
- Define, monitor and troubleshoot system issues.
- Collaborate with development team, DBA’s and staff to design/architect system to support 24x7 teal-time applications.
- Develop and implement standards and processes for chance and configuration management.
- Specify and manage performance-monitoring tools and notification/alerting services.
- Compose, edit and maintain internal documentation for IT team.
- Assist in implementing, executing, maintain, and documenting proper back-up and recovery procedures.
- Flexibility to be on-call and occasionally work after hours or over a weekend.
- Complete security audits on a routine basis.
We are looking for a highly motivated, detail-oriented professional to support the needs of the Engineering Team at Dotomi. A strong candidate for this position will possess the following qualifications:
- Education: University degree in the field of computer science or related.
- 10 years of technical related experience with 7 years related Managerial experience.
- Management of online/Web environment and applications.
- Understanding of x86 hardware and technologies.
- High Availability and failover scenarios, load balanced environments.
- Strong technical knowledge of network and Server operating systems – Primarily Linux and some Windows.
- Strong technical knowledge of current network hardware, protocols, and standards – TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, WINS, RAS.
- Experience of running multiple data centers.
- Experience of running a VM Ware environment.
- Proven experience in IT infrastructure planning and development.
- Ability to conduct and direct research into IT issues and products s required.
- Ability to present ideas in business-friendly and user-friendly language.
- Ability to perform general mathematical calculations for the purpose of creating business cases, budgets, and so on.
- Highly self-motivated and directed. Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
- Keen attention to detail.
- Proven analytical, evaluative, and problem-solving abilities.
- Exceptional customer service orientation.
- Strong leadership skills. Extensive experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
